Rig Jobs in 2011 And 2012

You know, I used to work on the oil rigs a few years back until I was unlucky and had an accident.  I was working as a rough neck up in the North until one of the drilling pipes fell onto my ankle. Oh my, did that ever hurt. It shattered my ankle and I was rushed to the hospital in great pain.  It took 3 surgeries for the orthopedic surgen to put my ankle into a shape that resembled the past. I do not know how the surgery was but the rehabillitation took over 6 months and that was last year, 2010.  Now I am feeling pretty good again and am starting to do my job hunting.  First I learned again how to layout my resume for jobs in the oil rigs.  I found some great information online for this.  Isn’t Google a wonderful tool for finding things out. Beats going downtown to the library. Well anyways today I sent my resume out for some rig jobs. They were for foreman right down to roughneck work. It seemsed there is some good oportunities once more.

Rig Jobs And The Coast

Yesterday I was on my boat going fishing along the eastern seaboard and saw this old oil rig. It got me to thinking about rig jobs today and what that would be like as an occupation. Myself I am making a living working in a grocery store and my wife has always bugged to me further my career. Maybe working on the rigs is the move I need to make. I have heard that someone on the rigs can earn up to one thousand dollars a day. Wow, could I ever have fun spending that kind of money. I could buy a big house, one of those large SUV’s and also travel to some crazy foreign lands, like Italy or something in Europe. I think I could be a good candidate for oil rig jobs as I do not mind getting dirty, I am strong and like to work hard and not sit at a deskjob. Who know though right, I suppose it is hard to get hired in this horrible economy that Bush has put us in.  I am left wishing while I go fishing and catch some fresh fish for supper.
